Hubris

Anyone looking for the smoking gun to prove the House GOP leadership is more interested in retaining their grip on power than on standing up for the alleged principles they profess need look no further.
A longtime chief of staff to disgraced former representative Mark Foley (R-Fla.) approached House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert's office three years ago, repeatedly imploring senior Republicans to help stop Foley's advances toward teenage male pages, the staff member said yesterday.
All the pathetic whines from Hastert down to Rush Limbaugh that the Foley scandal is nothing but a timed ploy by Democrats to hurt the party of moral values reflect just how morally bankrupt the GOP is.

And by the way Rush, Drudge, Sean and Bill, the Boston Globe called for the resignation of Barney Frank after his escapades with Steve Gobie were revealed. The voters decided, in direct contradiction to the desire of the "liberal media."

I can't decide what's worse: Foley's acts or the pathetic efforts to spin them as just more partisan chicanery.

Where's the soap?

The rotten apple doesn't fall far from the tree---Last night, King George the 1st was on the Larry King show and when asked if he thought (Bastert) Hastert should step down-George(41) said, "No way, definetly not..." He had his daughter on with him and they both looked liked nodding ceramic dogs saying how great a president George(43) was! Wow-what a great family moment. Now back to Bastert--I mean Hastert and his quote of the week(weak): "I will not resign!" Well Denny if my child happened to be one of those victimized pages you wouldn't have to because your pompous political butt would be kicked across the White House lawn all the way back to your mansion that was paid for by US taxpayers.
