Riddle me this

Why did (former) Gov. Mitt Romney choose to announce his MBTA bag search policy in this morning's New York Times -- hours before he made a similar announcement in the commmunity directly affected by his decision?

Could it be all those T riders who read the Times every day from Ashmont to Park Street? Or is it because our out-of-touch "leader" sees political capital to be made for taking a stand on homeland security.
"I think we recognize globally that transit systems, airport systems and the like have been targets," Mr. Romney said, "and therefore we have to adjust our security parameters to no longer focus on just crime, but to add the additional threat of terror."
Let me guess.

How much do you want to bet that Mitt and an entourage of cameras will be present at one of the next "random" checks. Just reminder Mitt, it costs $1.25 to get on the subway right now, at least until the "fee increase" in January.

And the Charlie Tickets goes arrow side up. And whatever you don't, please don't agitate the courteous employees there to assist riders.
